Dear Friends,

It is hard to believe that we have a mere three weeks or so before we start another school year.  With that in mind, I would greatly covet your prayers!  Here are a few specifics that you can be praying for:

  • New Students: First, that churches and individuals would let us know who is coming and that our information that we send them would encourage them to come and check us out.  But, also pray for the students in CCF that they would be both compassionate (seeing the loneliness and fear in some of these new students, and be willing to reach out to them with Christ’s love) and bold (that they might be willing to talk to people and ask them to come to CCF activities).  Pray that God would send us out and that we would bring them in!!
  • Kick-Off Activities: Pray that we would be wise in our outreach.  That those activities that we attempt would truly bring us into contact with many, many students in the first weeks.  Specifically, pray for the pizza give away by the Iowa group; the Lemon-Aid stand and local pizza parties by the Iowa State group.
  • Finances: As our first month is our most expensive month, pray that God would supply these needs in the next few weeks, that money would not have to be an issue as we seek all opportunities to reach out to the campuses!
  • For the Staff: That they would use these last few weeks to be spiritually encouraged, that they might be the very best they can be for service to Jesus.  Pray that they would learn discipline in their Quiet Times and Devotions, so as to be close to their source of strength and love and wisdom, and set a great example for the students.
  • For Shane and the Russia Team: With a little over a week in Russia, pray for Shane and the team as they continue to share with young people at their English camp in Orenburg.  Pray also that God would meet their financial needs, as their travel delays have add some unexpected extra expenses.  Pray that they would not worry about their finances and be able to concentrate on their ministry.

Thanks so much for your prayers and encouragement.  We could not do it without you!

In His Service,

John Woodward
